On the occasion of celebrations of the 1700 anniversary of the adoption of Christianity, which is taking place throughout  this year, and in anticipation of greater number of tourists visiting Armenia, 20 Christian sites have been identified for upgrading and maintenance. 

The goal is to provide a superior and consistent visitor experience at each of the sites, with parking, restrooms, lighting, concessions and even lodging available wherever necessary.

The Cafesjian Family Foundation (CFF) has financed the study and preparation of the basic requirements at each of these sites. The sites and report-proposals have been prepared and are available at http://www.armeniadiaspora.com/projects/monuments/names.html

A Project Implementation Unit (PIU) has been set up specifically for this project with the full cooperation of the Committee for Preservation of Monuments, the 1700th anniversary Committee as well as other relevant government agencies has also been secured.
