| Yerevan, April 14 /Noyan Tapan/ On July 6-13 the fourth All-Armenian Conference of Writers will be held in Armenia and Artsakh. More than seventy writers from different colonies of the Diaspora will take part in this conference. According to the information provided to a Noyan Tapan correspondent by Levon Ananian, the Chairman of the Union of Armenian Writers, the conference will be held under the "The Literary Young Generation: Challenges of the 21st Century" slogan this year. He mentioned that on the initiative of the RA Ministry of Culture this year the conference will be held within the frameworks of the "One Nation, One Culture" festival.

| March 20, /Panarmenian.net/ The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, Ambassadors Yuri Merzlyakov of Russia, Bernard Fassier of France and Matthew Bryza of the U.S. issued a statement upon the meetings with Armenia and Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministers, the OSCE communication unit reports.
The statement says,

January 22, 2008, /PanARMENIAN.Net/ Events in commemoration of Agos editor Hrant Dink were held in Moscow January 19 on initiative of the Youth Union of the Armenian Apostolic Church and a number of youth organizations.
A liturgy in memory of Christians slaughtered in Turkey was chanted in Surb Harutyun Church.
A picket with participation of the Armenian, Assyrian and Greek communities of Moscow was organized at the Turkish Embassy. The demonstrators lit candles at the portraits of Hrant Dink and Fuad Deniz, a historian of Assyrian descent who was killed last December in Sweden.

With the support of RA Ministry of Culture, the Speghani choir, laureate of international competitions, was recognized "the best choir" and received a diploma at the 10th International Festival of Chamber Choirs held on May 25-30 in Marktoberdorf (Germany). As Sarina Avtandilian, choir's Art Director and conductor, reported at the June 12 press conference, at the festival the choir was included among the best 13 choirs of the world.
S. Avtandilian said that the choir had also took part in the European Festival of Youth Choirs held on May 15-20 in the city of Basel, Switzerland. | Glendale, CA - June 9 - More than 800 people rallied together on Saturday, June 9 for the Second Annual "Walk of Life" 5k/10k Walkathon at the Glendale High School Moyse Stadium to support the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR) in its critical life-saving mission. In addition, more than 100 registered to join as donors of bone marrow stem cells. The walkathon was organized to raise public awareness of the role played by the ABMDR, to expand the existing database of volunteer bone marrow stem cell donors, and raise funds to cover tissue-typing expenses.
The event began with a prayer led by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, and Father Vasken Atmajian, representing Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America. Dr. Frieda Jordan, president of the ABMDR welcomed the crowd with a brief message: "We are delighted with the overwhelming participation of the community in this, our second annual 'Walk of Life' walkathon", she said. "Each one of you carries a torch; you're all beacons of hope, hope to all those waiting for a match, waiting for their chance to live, and waiting for their chance to walk. Thanks for coming. Let's get going. We have miles to walk. We have work to do. We have lives to save."
Participants walked or ran their 5 or 10 K in the stadium, while many crowded the recruitment booth to register as bone marrow stem cell donors. Many of the participants walked in support of cancer survivors or of cancer patients, and in memory of cancer victims. They walked for Arlene and Natalie, they walked for Lar and Patrick, and they walked for Biurad. They walked to celebrate the survivors, to support the patients, to remember and honor the victims.
At the conclusion of the walk, Taleen Khatchadourian, Chairperson of the walkathon committee, thanked the participants, and stressed the crucial role of the sponsors and organizations "whose backing and support made this a resounding success, and greatly enhanced our ability to continue our life-saving mission." She recognized the major sponsorship of Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center, as well as the corporate sponsorships of Cal National Bank, City of Glendale Water and Power, Closet World, Design By Naz Exclusive Jewelry, Eric Garcetti, President LA City Council (District 13), Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Horizon 24 Hour Armenian TV, Next Day Color Printing, Print On All Promotional Products, St Joseph Hospital. Also present were Glendale City Council Member Frank Quintero and Glendale City Clerk Ardashes Kassakhian. Artists for Kids and Elon presented Dr. Jordan with a check of $5,0000, proceeds from the May 29 concert by Elon given to benefit the ABMDR.
The event ended with a live and lively performance by the very popular Nersig Ispiryan, whose upbeat songs captured and reflected the energy of the day, and instantly transformed those present from tired walkers into fervent dancers.

| Yerevan, May 30 /Armenpress/ The International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) has inaugurated today a resource center in Yerevan. It will be operating as an affiliation of its Armenian branch. The resource center is furnished with the state-of-the-art equipment and is supposed to become a venue of different seminars and gatherings of Armenian researchers.
ISTC Deputy Executive Director, Laura Schmidt Williams, said Armenia is the first country that will have the resource center operating alongside its branch.

| Yerevan, May 23. /Arka/. The international scientific practical conference "Armenian communities at the modern stage: survival, adaptation, perspectives" will be held in Yerevan on July 19-20.
The scientific-educational "Noravank" Fund said that the development of information and communication technologies, transparency of borders and migration flows have significantly increased the issues of national originality, culture and traditions.
"These processes should be treated as a challenge to all the Armenians. May 14, 2007, ATP, Hollywood, CA--Young Armenian-Americans came forward once again to volunteer their time and energy in support of Armenia Tree Project (ATP). When Hovannes Donelyan and his friends in the rock group the Mercenaries heard about ATP's effort to plant a forest in memory of the slain writer Hrant Dink, they contacted our Watertown office and offered to help.

Ankara, January 18, Armenpress: Akhtamar Church, situated on Akhtamar Island on Van Lake near the eastern Turkish city of Van, will be opened on April 11th, Turkish news agencies reported.
The church was renovated with the cooperation of Van Governor's Office and Culture and Tourism Ministry of Turkey. Akhtamar Church was constructed by Armenian architect Manuel between 915 and 921 A.D. under the supervision of King Gagik I.
